Preliminary Procedures Remove the instrument panel center support bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Support Bracket Replacement . Lower the steering column and position out of the way. Refer to Steering Column Replacement . Remove the instrument panel cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement . Remove the instrument panel upper trim pad assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement . Remove the HVAC control assembly. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement . Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement . Remove the left and right windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement . Remove the left and right instrument panel end covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement . Remove the instrument panel compartment assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
1	Instrument Panel Retainer Screw (Qty: 7) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 2 N.m (18 lb in)
2	Push Pin Fasteners (Qty: 4)
3	Instrument Panel Retainer Bolts (Qty: 16) Tighten: 2 N.m (18 lb in)
4	Instrument Panel Retainer Assembly Procedure Note routing of the wiring harness prior to removal to ensure proper reinstallation. Disconnect electrical wiring harness connections. With the aid of an assistant, remove the retainer from the vehicle. When replacing the retainer, transfer all necessary components.
