Fuel Gage Inaccurate or Inoperative

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Check for engine control diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
Is the vehicle speed sensor DTC set?		 - Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect engine control module (ECM) connector.
  3. Remove the instrument cluster.
  4. Measure continuity between ECM terminal K30 (MR-140), terminal B31 (HV-240), terminal 40 (SIRUS D4) in Gasoline and terminal K89 in Diesel and the instrument cluster terminal B3, terminal A21 in Diesel.
Does the ohmmeter indicate the specified value?		 0 Ω Go to Step 4  Go to Step 3 
3 Repair the open circuit between the instrument cluster connector terminal B3, terminal A21 in Diesel and the ECM terminal K30 (MR-140), terminal B31 (HV-240), terminal 40 (SIRUS D4) in Gasoline and terminal K89 in Diesel.
Is the repair complete?		 - System OK -
4 Replace the fuel gage.
