CAUTION: Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly. CAUTION: To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction. CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution . CAUTION: Eye protection must be worn when drilling rivets to reduce the chance of personal injury. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedure Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Impala) . Remove the recliner handle. Refer to Driver Seat Recliner Handle and Passenger Seat Recliner Handle Replacement (Impala) . Remove the power seat switch knob. Refer to Driver Seat Adjuster Switch Knob and Passenger Seat Adjuster Switch Knob Replacement (Impala) . Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement (Impala) . Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.
1	Seat Cushion Cover Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement (Impala) . Tip: Remove the seat cushion cover and pad as an assembly.
2	Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence Sensor Retainer (Qty: 2)
3	Sensor, Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Tip: Note the routing of the wiring harness and connector location for installation. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4	Front Seat Adjuster Assembly Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement (Impala) .
5	Inflatable Restraint Front Passenger Presence Module Rivet (Qty: 2) Tip: Carefully drill out the rivets to remove the module. If reusing the module, use care not to drill into the module. Install new module with fasteners provided in the service kit.
6	Inflatable Restraint Front Passenger Presence Module Tip: Disconnect the electrical connector.
