Water-in-Fuel Draining

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Attach a small piece of hose to the drain cock onto the water-in-fuel sensor.
  3. Place an approved fuel-resistant container under the fuel filter.
  4. Fig 1: Identifying Drain Cock

  5. Open the drain cock 3 or 4 turns or until the water contaminated fuel seeps from the drain cock.
  6. Prime the fuel system until only diesel fuel is visible. Refer to Fuel System Priming .
  7. Tighten the drain cock.
  8. Remove the container and hose.
