Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the ignition coil wire to the distributor.

  6. Using a suitable tool disconnect the cruse control cable from the throttle body.

  8. disconnect the accelerator control cable from the throttle lever.

  10. Remove the accelerator cable bracket and position aside.

  12. Remove the studs holding the bracket and the ignition coil to the intake manifold.
  13. Remove the bracket and the ignition coil.
  14. Drill and punch out the two rivets holding the ignition coil to the bracket.
  15. Remove the ignition coil from the bracket.
