Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector C100.
- Connect a test lamp between the control circuit and the voltage supply circuit.
- Ignition ON, command the wait to start indicator ON and OFF with the scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
- If the test lamp remains ON all the time, test for a short to ground on the control circuit. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
- If the test lamp remains OFF all the time, test for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance on the control circuit. If the circuit test normal, replace the ECM
- If the control circuit tests normal, test the control circuit between C100 and the instrument panel cluster (IPC) for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
