Circuit/System Verification

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 GMC Sierra, 2010 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2010 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: If other DTCs are set, diagnose those DTCs first.
  1. Ignition ON, verify with a scan tool the Tap Up/Down Switch parameter displays On.
  2. Ignition ON, cycle the automatic transmission manual shift switch up and down, while observing the Tap Up/Down parameter. The parameter should change to Up when the plus (+) switch is selected, and to Down when the minus (-) switch is selected.
  3. Cycle the tow/haul switch while observing the Tow/Haul Mode parameter on the scan tool. The Tow/Haul Mode parameter should change states between Active and Inactive with each cycle of the switch.
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify that the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records.
