Piston and Connecting Rod Disassemble: Disassemble

  1. Mark orientation of the piston to the connecting rod.

  3. Remove the piston rings using a piston ring expander.

  5. Remove the connecting rod bearing inserts.

  7. Use J 43654  to remove the piston pin retainers. See Special Tools .
  8. Remove the piston pin. The pin is a full-floating style and should slide from the piston.
  9. Remove the piston from the connecting rod.
