Installation Procedure

  1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004, (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent around the indicator tube 13 mm (0.5 in) below the tube bead.
  2. Install the indicator tube. Rotate the oil level indicator tube into position.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the indicator tube bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  4. Install the right exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right (4.3L Engine) or Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L Engines) or Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right (6.6L (LLY) Engine) or Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right (8.1L Engine) in Engine Exhaust.
  5. Install the oil level indicator.
