Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: Clean the area around the camshaft position (CMP) sensor before removal in order to prevent debris from entering the engine.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the CMP sensor wire harness.

  3. Remove the CMP sensor wire harness bolts (1, and 6).
  4. Remove the CMP sensor wire harness (5).
  5. Remove the CMP sensor (2) and O-ring seal (3).
