Removal Procedure

Important: Two piece propeller shafts are system balanced. Service kits are available as follows.
- Propeller shaft universal joint kit
- Slip yoke kit
- Propeller shaft slip yoke boot kit
Service to other parts of the two piece propeller shaft is by assembly only.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Support the propeller shaft with safety stands.
- Remove the center bearing bolts (3)
- Remove the center bearing from the bracket.
- Remove the propeller shaft hanger bolts.
- Remove the propeller shaft hanger.
- Remove the bolts and the yoke retainers from the rear axle pinion yoke.
- Disconnect the propeller shaft from the rear axle pinion yoke.
- Remove the propeller shaft by sliding it rearward from the transmission.
