Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe and Hole Cover Installation

- Install the seals (308) onto the engine coolant air bleed pipe and covers.
- Install the pipe (307) and seals (308).
- Install the bolts (309) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- As required, install either a new plug or the earlier design coolant air bleed covers (313) and gaskets (308). Refer to Cylinder Head Assemble .
- Install the bolts (312).
- Tighten the cover bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
NOTE:
Position the O-ring seal onto the nipple portion of the pipe.

NOTE:
Production engines use a rivet-type plug at the top rear coolant passage of each cylinder head. If service of a leaking plug is required, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head from the engine to properly remove the plug. refer to Cylinder Head Disassemble .
