Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission oil pan and filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement .
  2. NOTE: Do not remove the valve body for the following procedures. Removal of the 1-2 accumulator is necessary only if servicing the pressure control solenoid.
  3. Remove the 1-2 accumulator if necessary. Refer to Accumulator Assembly, Spacer Plate, and Gaskets .
  4. Disconnect all the internal wiring harness electrical connectors from the electrical components (1-6).

  6. Remove the solenoid retainer bolt (364A) and the solenoid retainer (378).
  7. Remove the pressure control solenoid (377).

    Note the orientation upon removal.

  9. Remove the 1-2 and 2-3 shift solenoid retainers.
  10. Remove the 1-2 and 2-3 shift solenoids.
