Removal Procedure

- Remove the steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement (Hydraulic Rack and Pinion) or Steering Gear Replacement (Recirculating Ball Without LMM) or Steering Gear Replacement (HP2) or Steering Gear Replacement (LMM) .
- Remove the power steering gear inlet hose retaining plate bolt (1) and the power steering gear inlet hose retaining plate (2).
- Loosen both steering gear cylinder pipe fittings (3) on the steering gear (4).
- Remove both steering gear cylinder pipes (2) from the steering gear (4).
- Remove and discard the steering gear cylinder pipe seals (1) from the steering gear (4).
NOTE:
Protect the steering gear boots from sharp tools and from the sharp edges of surrounding components.
