Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. SeeZONE 3  andZONE 7  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Disconnect electrical connectors under driver seat. Remove driver seat. Fold back carpet to access SDM. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip from SDM connector and disconnect connector. Remove SDM mounting nuts. See Fig 1. Remove SDM.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure arrow on SDM is facing towards front of vehicle. Tighten SDM nuts and driver seat bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ZONE 3  andZONE 7  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
