Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. IMPORTANT: The following service procedure is for those vehicles that are equipped with All Wheel Drive (AWD).
  4. Remove the wheel driveshaft nut and discard. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Remove the front brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (RWD) or Front Brake Rotor Replacement (AWD) .
  6. Remove the wheel speed sensor. Refer to Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (RWD) or Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (AWD) .

    NOTE: Avoid tool contact to the outer constant velocity boot seal when removing the wheel bearing mounting bolts. Failure to observe this notice may result in damage to the CV boot.
  8. Carefully remove the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts.

  10. Using the J 45859  , remove the wheel driveshaft from the wheel bearing/hub.
  11. Remove the wheel bearing/hub assembly.
