Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Remove the wheel driveshaft nut and discard. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side .
- Remove the front brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (RWD) or Front Brake Rotor Replacement (AWD) .
- Remove the wheel speed sensor. Refer to Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (RWD) or Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (AWD) .
- Carefully remove the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts.
- Using the J 45859 , remove the wheel driveshaft from the wheel bearing/hub.
- Remove the wheel bearing/hub assembly.
IMPORTANT:
The following service procedure is for those vehicles that are equipped with All Wheel Drive (AWD).
NOTE:
Avoid tool contact to the outer constant velocity boot seal when removing the wheel bearing mounting bolts. Failure to observe this notice may result in damage to the CV boot.
