Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  3. Remove the steering linkage outer tie rod nut and discard it.

  5. Disconnect the steering linkage outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using puller J 24319-B  . See Special Tools .

  7. Loosen the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (1) and discard it.
  8. IMPORTANT: Note the number of complete turns made to remove the steering linkage outer tie rod.
  9. Remove the steering linkage outer tie rod (2) from the steering linkage inner tie rod (3).
