Circuit/System Testing
- With the ignition OFF, disconnect the EOP sensor.
- Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the EOP sensor signal circuit and the EOP 5-volt reference circuit.
- With the ignition ON, install a scan tool and observe the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor parameter in the IPC ECM/PCM Data List.
- If the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor parameter is at or above 880 kPa (127.63 psi), repair the EOP sensor harness connector or replace the EOP sensor.
- Disconnect the fused jumper and measure the voltage between the 5-volt reference circuit and the low reference circuit of the EOP sensor.
- If the voltage measured is greater than 4.7 volts, check the EOP sensor signal circuit for a short to ground, an open or a high resistance.
- If the voltage measured is less than 4.7 volts, check the EOP 5-volt reference circuit for a short to ground, an open or a high resistance.
- If both circuits tests normal, replace the ECM/PCM.
