Circuit/System Testing

  1. With the ignition OFF, disconnect the EOP sensor.
  2. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the EOP sensor signal circuit and the EOP 5-volt reference circuit.
  3. With the ignition ON, install a scan tool and observe the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor parameter in the IPC ECM/PCM Data List.
    • If the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor parameter is at or above 880 kPa (127.63 psi), repair the EOP sensor harness connector or replace the EOP sensor.
  4. Disconnect the fused jumper and measure the voltage between the 5-volt reference circuit and the low reference circuit of the EOP sensor.
    • If the voltage measured is greater than 4.7 volts, check the EOP sensor signal circuit for a short to ground, an open or a high resistance.
