Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Fig 1: Disconnecting Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Harness Electrical Connector

  3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister harness electrical connector (2) from the EVAP vent solenoid valve.
  4. Clean away any debris that may be present around the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve.

  6. Remove the EVAP canister bolt (5).
  7. Lower the EVAP canister (4).

  9. Rotate the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve counterclockwise in order to release it from the locked position.

  11. Remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve from the canister.
