Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel fill cap.
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedure .
  3. Remove the fuel filler pocket. Refer to Fuel Filler Pocket Replacement in Body Rear End.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) vent pipe (1) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  6. Cap or plug the EVAP canister fitting in order to prevent system contamination.

  8. Remove the fuel fill pipe lower bolt.

  10. Disconnect the fuel tank vent line quick connect fitting (2) from the fill pipe recirculation line. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .
  11. Loosen the fuel fill hose clamp (3) at the fuel tank.
  12. Remove the fuel fill hose from the fuel tank.
  13. Cap or plug the fuel tank opening and vent line in order to prevent fuel loss and/or system contamination.
  14. Remove the fuel fill hose/pipe.
