Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister harness electrical connector (2) from the EVAP vent solenoid valve.
  3. Clean away any debris that may be present around the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve.

  5. Remove the EVAP canister retaining bolt (1).
  6. Lower the EVAP canister.

  8. Rotate the EVAP canister vent valve counterclockwise to release from the locked position.

  10. Remove the vent valve from the EVAP canister.
