Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Drain the coolant system to below the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (2.0L (LSJ)) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (2.2L (L61), 2.4L (LE5)) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (GE 47716 Fill) .
  3. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature ECT sensor electrical connector.
  4. Carefully remove the ECT sensor (1).
