Exhaust Manifold Installation

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  1. Install new exhaust manifold studs.

    Tighten:  Tighten the studs to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  3. Install the block heater, if equipped.

    Tighten:  Tighten the block heater bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
  6. Install the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.
  7. Install NEW exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts finger tight.

  9. Tighten the NEW exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts in sequence.

    Tighten: 

    1. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts to 14 N.m (10 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts a second time to 14 N.m (10 lb ft).

  11. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
  12. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
