Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LE5) , Catalytic Converter Replacement (L61)  or Catalytic Converter Replacement (LNF) .
  2. To aid in removal, spray a non petroleum based lubricant onto the insulators.
  3. Remove the insulators from the resonator pipe and the muffler.
  4. Using a suitable jack stand for support, lower the resonator pipe and the muffler for clearance.

  6. Drill out and remove the 4 heat shield rivets (1).
  7. Remove the heat shield nut (2).
  8. Remove the heat shield.
