Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake backing plate.
  2. Install the wheel bearing/hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Drum Brake) .

  4. Secure the rear park brake cable end fitting (1) to the brake backing plate.

  6. Install the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement .
  7. Install the universal spring (1) to the backing plate.
  8. Install the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .
  9. Adjust the drum brakes. Refer to Drum Brake Adjustment .
  10. Install the brake drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement .
  11. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) .
  12. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
