Windshield Washer Pump Replacement (Chevrolet)

Preliminary Procedure
- Remove the right front fender liner for Chevrolet and the left front fender liner for Pontiac. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement
.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield washer pump.
- Place a clean suitable container under the windshield washer solvent container and secure any washer solvent loss.
- Remove the windshield washer pump hose at the washer pump spout.

Windshield Washer Pump Procedure
- Using two small flat-bladed tools, insert the flat blades under each edge of the washer pump.
- Pry outward slightly, in order to disengage the washer pump from the washer container.
- Remove the windshield washer pump from the container.
- Discard the washer pump grommet.

Windshield Washer Pump Grommet Procedure
- Install a new washer pump grommet into the washer container.
- Lubricate the new grommet using straight windshield washer solvent, undiluted.
- Insert the pump into the grommet and apply even pressure on the pump into the container.
- Secure the washer hose and electrical connection.
- Fill the windshield washer solvent container with clean washer solvent.
