Exhaust Manifold Removal

  1. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.
  2. Fig 2: View Of Block Heater

  3. Remove the block heater if equipped.

  5. Remove the oxygen sensor.

  7. Remove and discard the exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts.
  8. Remove the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter assembly.
  9. Clean all of the sealing surfaces.
  10. If the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter assembly is being replaced, transfer the following parts:
    • The exhaust manifold heat shield
    • The oxygen sensor
