Installation Procedure

Lubricate a new O-ring with DEXRON III transmission fluid.
Install the new O-ring.

Install the VSS assembly.
Install the VSS retainer.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .

Install the VSS retainer bolt.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (8 lb ft).

Connect the VSS connector to the VSS.
Lower the vehicle.
