Draining Procedure

  1. Remove the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (4 Lug Wheel) or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (5 Lug Wheel) .

  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid drain plug area.
  5. Remove the drain plug.
  6. Allow the system to drain.
  7. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  8. Install the transmission fluid drain plug, using pipe sealant Saturn P/N 21485278 or equivalent on the plug threads.

    Tighten:  Tighten the transmission fluid drain plug to 38 N.m (28 lb ft).
