Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the secondary air injection (AIR) check valve.

  3. Disconnect the AIR pump outlet hose quick connect fitting at the AIR check valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  4. Remove the AIR check valve bolts.
  5. Remove the AIR check.
  6. Remove and discard the AIR check valve gasket.
  7. Clean the check valve gasket mating surfaces.
