Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the charge air cooler pump. Refer to Coolant Pump Replacement - Charge Air Cooler .
  4. Remove the starter solenoid terminal nut (6).
  5. Remove the positive battery cable terminal (5) and the starter solenoid terminal (4) from the starter.

  7. Remove the starter solenoid "S" terminal nut (1).
  8. Remove the engine harness terminal (2) from the starter.

  10. Remove the starter bolts.
  11. Remove the starter.
