Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Pontiac G5 Pursuit, 2007 Pontiac G5, and 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- If the DTC is history, refer to Charging System Test .
- If the DTC is current, turn ON the ignition, and with a DMM, measure the voltage between the battery positive voltage circuits of the EBCM and the ground circuit.
- If the voltage is within 9-17 volts, replace the affected module.
- If the voltage is not within 9-17 volts, measure the voltage between the battery positive voltage circuits of the EBCM and a separate good ground.
- If the voltage is within 9-17 volts, test the battery positive ground circuits of the EBCM for high resistance or an open, and repair as necessary.
