Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower steering column cover.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
    IMPORTANT: Tighten the lower steering column screws in the mandatory torque sequence as shown.
  3. Install the lower steering column cover screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the lower steering column cover screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in).

  5. Install the upper steering column trim cover by guiding the soft closeout under the I/P Trim Panel.
  6. Push on the upper steering column cover until it snaps into place and is secure.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
