Engine Oil Pressure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Pontiac G5 Pursuit, 2007 Pontiac G5, and 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the engine oil pressure (EOP) indicator when the powertrain control module (PCM)/engine control module (ECM) detects the EOP is low from the EOP sensor/switch. The PCM/ECM sends a GMLAN serial data message to the body control module (BCM) indicating a low EOP condition. The IPC receives a GMLAN message from the BCM requesting the EOP indicator.
