Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P). Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the body control module (BCM). Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Computing/Integrating Systems.
  4. Remove the daytime running lights (DRL) module. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  5. Remove the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
  6. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  7. Remove the A/C module. Refer to HVAC Control Module Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  8. Remove the I/P air outlet ducts. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Air Outlet Ducts Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  9. Remove the center air outlet. Refer to Air Outlet Replacement - Center in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  10. Remove the defroster duct. Refer to Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Defroster in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

  12. Remove the bolts/screws which secure the I/P carrier to the body.
  13. Remove the I/P carrier from the body.
