Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  2. Fig 1: Removing FTP Sensor From Modular Fuel Sender (Malibu Sedan)

  3. Relieve the system fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  4. Drain fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedure .
  5. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Malibu Sedan) or Fuel Tank Replacement (Malibu MAXX) .
  6. Remove the electrical connector from the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor.
  7. Remove the FTP sensor from modular fuel sender.
