Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Malibu Sedan) .
  3. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent valve hose.
  4. Disconnect the vapor line from the fuel tank to the EVAP canister.
  5. Disconnect the purge line from the EVAP canister.

  7. Remove the screw in the EVAP canister mounting pad on the fuel tank and slide the EVAP canister upward off of the mount.
