J 39068 Pump Assembly Guide Pins. See Special Tools .

Install the J 39068 into the case. See Special Tools .
Install the new gasket (228).
Install the pump assembly (200-225).

Apply pipe thread sealant, GM P/N 12346004 to pump bolt threads before installation.
Hand start all of the bolts (229, 231, 232, 233, 234, 235, 331).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Remove the guide pins and install the remaining bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts in sequence in a clockwise pattern to 11-13 N.m (8.0-9.5 lb ft).
