Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the transmission oil pan and the oil filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid/Filter Replacement .
  3. Fig 1: View Of Valve Bore Plug Retainer Ring & Reverse Boost Valve Bushing Retainer Ring

    CAUTION: Valve springs can be tightly compressed. Use care when removing retainers and plugs. Personal injury could result.
  4. Remove the valve bore plug retainer ring (1).
  5. Fig 2: TCC Valve Assembly

  6. Remove the following parts:
    • The valve bore plug
    • The TCC valve
    • The TCC valve spring
