Inspection Procedure

  1. Remove the brake drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement .
  2. Clean the drum.
  3. Inspect the drum for cracks or damage.

  5. Measure the inside diameter of the drum.

    Specification:  The maximum inner diameter of the drum is 201 mm (7.91 in).

  6. If the inner diameter of the drum is greater than the specification, replace the drum.
  7. Measure the radial runout of the drum.

    Specification:  The maximum radial runout of the drum is 0.04 mm (0.002 in).

  8. If the drum exceeds the maximum radial runout, refinish the drum.
  9. Install the drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement .
