Pressure Control Solenoid Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki Swift + and 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Measure the resistance of each pressure control solenoid (PCS) between terminals.
  2. Fig 2: Minimum & Maximum Resistance Plot Lines (Pressure Control Solenoid)

IMPORTANT: The resistance of the solenoid can become infinity ohm when the resistance measurement is made at high temperatures.
  3. If the resistance value is not between the minimum and maximum resistance plot lines, then measure the solenoid resistance at 20° C (68° F).
  4. If both resistance measurements are not between the minimum and maximum resistance plot lines, then replace the PCS.
