Diagnostic Aids

Ensure the integrity of the connection between the EBCM and the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) is secure, tight, and free from corrosion.

Since the solenoid coils are an integral part of the EBCM, any one of the DTCs settings will usually indicate an internal fault to the EBCM.

1	Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - ABS?	Go to Step 2	Go to Diagnostic System Check - ABS
2	Turn the ignition switch OFF. Inspect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) for physical damage. Is any physical damage noted?	Go to Step 3	Go to Step 4
3	Replace the damaged components. Did you complete the replacement?	System OK	-
4	Disconnect the EBCM harness from the EBCM. Remove the EBCM from the BPMV. Inspect the EBCM and the BPMV cavity for fluid leaks, corrosion, and/or damage. Was the cavity free from any fluid leaks, damage, or corrosion?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 6
5	Replace both the EBCM and the BPMV. Refer to Brake Modulator Assembly Replacement (Delphi) or Brake Modulator Assembly Replacement (Mando) . Did you complete the replacement?	System OK	-
6	Install the scan tool. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Clear the DTC using the scan tool. Test drive the vehicle at various speeds and road surfaces. Does the DTC reset as current DTC?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 2
