Disabling Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki Swift + and 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Refer to SIR Service Precautions .
  1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle wheels are pointing straight ahead.
  2. Turn OFF the ignition.
  3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  4. Remove the fuse box cover.

  5. IMPORTANT: With the F8 fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG indicator illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.
  6. Remove the F8 fuse.

  8. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the side impact module - RF connector (1) located under the passenger seat.
  9. Disconnect the side air impact module - RF connector (1).
