Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC

1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle? - Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, engine OFF.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the voltage at the clutch pedal switch connector terminal 3.
Does the DMM indicate the specified value?
B+ Go to Step 3  Go to Step 4

  1. Turn the engine OFF.
  2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
  3. Connect the test lamp to battery positive, then probe connector terminal C15.
  4. Depress and release the clutch pedal while monitoring the test lamp.
Does the test lamp go ON and OFF?
- Go to Step 9  Go to Step 5 
4 Check the clutch pedal switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance.
Is a repair necessary?
- Go to Step 7  Go to Step 9 
5 Check the clutch pedal switch signal circuit for a short to battery voltage or a short to ground.
Is a repair necessary?
- Go to Step 7  Go to Step 6 
6 Check the clutch pedal switch signal circuit for an open.
Is a repair necessary?
B+ Go to Step 7  Go to Step 8 
7 Repair the circuit as necessary.
Did you complete the repair?
- Go to Step 10  -
8 Replace the clutch pedal switch.
Did you complete the replacement?
- Go to Step 10  -
9 Replace the ECM.
Did you complete the replacement?
- Go to Step 10  -

  1. Clear the DTCs using the scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition OFF for 30 seconds.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for setting the DTC.
Has the test run and passed?
- Go to Step 11  Go to Step 2 
11 Check if any additional DTCs are set.
Does the scan tool display any DTCs that you have not diagnosed?
- Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle System OK
