Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the wheel cylinder to the backing plate with the wheel cylinder bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the wheel cylinder-to-backing plate bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  2. Connect the brake line to the wheel cylinder.

    Tighten:  Tighten the brake line to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  3. Install the shoe and lining, and the brake drum. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .
  4. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) in Hydraulic Brakes.
