Removal Procedure

  1. Release the park brake.
  2. Apply the brake pedal at least 10 times.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  5. Remove the lock ring and the caulking nut from the spindle.

    CAUTION: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: Pull the drum straight off the spindle. The 2 inner wheel bearing races are not secured inside the drum by a ring.
  6. Remove the drum from the spindle.
