2	Start the engine. Does the tachometer operate normally?	Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems	Go to Step 3
3	Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Install a scan tool. With a scan tool, sweep the tachometer. Does the tachometer move from 0 RPM to 7000 RPM and back to 0 RPM when you sweep this gage up and down?	Go to Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls	Go to Step 4
4	IMPORTANT: Perform the set up procedure for the replacement IPC. Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement .Did you complete the replacement?	Go to Step 5	-
5	Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition?	System OK	Go to Step 3
