Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Remove the left sound insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left .
  3. Remove the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Knee Bolster .
  4. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory .

  5. Remove the nuts that retain the knee bolster from the steering column support.
  6. Remove the knee bolster from the studs.
