Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Buick LaCrosse and 2005 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Supplemental support provided near the bottom of the transmission will be required to prevent the powertrain from rotating if the frame is lowered or removed.
  1. Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right  and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left .

  2. Install a J 28467-B  and retention pin to each end of the J 28467-500  beam (2).

  3. Position the J 28467-B  to the left and right side inner fender rails in order to install the J 28467-500  .

  4. Assemble the following to create 2 lift hook assemblies as shown:
    • J 28467-34  .
    • J 28467-6A  .
    • J 28467-7A  .

  5. Install the 2 lift hook assemblies (1) to the J 45057-2 (2).
  6. Install the engine mount strut nuts and bolts to the strut brackets.

  7. Install the lift hook assemblies to the engine mount strut bolts as shown.
  8. Gently tighten the J 28467-34  lift hook wing nuts.
