Installation Procedure

  1. Position the IP upper trim plate retainers to the slots in the instrument panel (IP) lower trim panel. Press the trim plate into place until fully seated.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the screw to the lower right end of the IP upper trim plate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  3. Install the IP lower trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Lower .
  4. Install the screw to the left end of the IP upper trim plate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the IP cluster trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster (Impala)  or Trim Plate Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster (Monte Carlo) .
    6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the screw to the right end of the IP upper trim plate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the right IP fuse block access hole cover.
